2004-12-13
Present: DB, TK, DW, DJ
State
- DJ has built the first page of the GUI which runs on Linux and Windows
- DJ discovered that the RELOAD source code needs de-buging, see comments below:
- Bug in "support-jar.xml"
There was a bug in this Ant build file that did not
create an essential "bin" directory. Phillip Beauvoir fixed this.
- Bugs in all "build.xml" files
I fixed this - essentially the file structure Bradford use for development is different to that in the CVS repository. So RELOAD will not work out the box. This is an historic throw-back because changing the file structure would interfere with the way they have CVS set-up.
- Execution Limitation
In order for RELOAD to work you have to be in directory
<RELOAD_INSTALL_DIR>/reload/editor
- Needs User-Friendly Installation or Installation Documentation
All the preceeding bullet points were discovered by trial and error. An overall automated install/execution script OR a documented install/execution procedure would have been useful.
- This de-bug took a couple of days of DJs time
- DW has spoken to James Daizel about possible LAMs wizard (ongoing discussion)
- DW will meet Bill Olivier on 2004-12-20 to talk about WCKER producing IMS LD XML in RELOAD
Discussion
- Now need to get a working copy of the Reload source
- Need to 'gather our thoughts'
- Looking for further funding
- Talking to the Canadians about next steps
- Coding style
Outcomes
- DJ and DB to work on producing the first couple of 'pages' of the WCKER using an instance of the WCKER schems
- TK, to gather our thinking together in a short report
- TK to look for two other reconised course formates to test the relevance of the schema
